Washing Guidelines
Using Real Nappies can be up to 40% better for than the environment than using disposables but it does depend on how you use them. Follow our washing guidelines to help you achieve the maximum savings:
Store used nappies in a lidded bucket – no need to soak
Wash in full loads at no more than 60 degrees
Use A rated appliances
Use an eco detergent but don’t use fabric conditioners or chemical sanitisers
Avoid tumble drying – hang outside or use an airer
Never iron your nappies!
Switch to a ‘green energy’ tariff for your electricity
For maximum environmental benefit, reuse the nappies on another child or pass them on to someone else - the more times they get used the better!
